POGS (Parent of graduating students)

What is POGS?

Each BHS class has a ‘POGS’ and we act as a liaison to the Class of 2023 families for school information that pertains to the Class of 2023.  The purpose of POGS is to serve as an avenue for communication between the PTO, the Student Enrichment Committee, the assistant principals, the school counselors, BHS administration, the Student Government, Senior Class officers and the parents and students at BHS.  We meet at least two times during the school year with parents and BHS representatives.

Senior Year

Planning is underway for your student’s senior year and the monthly senior gift and graduation events!  The 2023 POGS Leadership Team and volunteers will provide every Class of 2023 student with a monthly senior treat, assist with senior sunrise breakfast, provide a Class of 2023 T-shirt, homecoming and spring weeks, graduation yard signs, baccalaureate and graduation rehearsal luncheon, graduation flowers and so much more.  The cost to cover these expenses comes from your POGS 2023 donation. Gifts will depend on available funds and are coordinated by the 2023 POGS Leadership Team.

Recommended Donation

The recommended donation is $150 per student.  (Note: An increase was approved by the PTO from $120/student to $150/student due to increased costs for senior treats and lunches.)

The easiest way to make your donation is to go to the BHS PTO website at http://www.ptobhs.org, log in and pay (or create your free PTO account if you haven’t & you’ll get all future Class of 2023 updates.)  There is no added fee to pay via the PTO website. You will see where you can add the $150 (or other) POGS donation to your cart and complete the checkout process. If you prefer to pay with a check made out to BHS POGS2023, mail to: Tara Patil – 9274 Wardley Park Lane, Brentwood, TN  37027

Senior Recognition Form

Next step is to fill out the Senior Recognition Form.  To ensure that your senior receives their Class of 2023 T-shirt and graduation yard sign, use the link below to fill out the google form. This needs to be completed by August 8, 2022, so we can get t-shirts ordered.

• Senior Portraits: Schedule and have taken between June 1 – August 24 at prestigeportraits.com/studio
• Senior Kick Off: August 1
• First Day of School: August 5 (half day)
• POGS 2023 Fall Meeting: August 15
• BHS Open House: September 1
• Homecoming Week: September 26-30. Parade is the morning of September 30. Dance is October 1.
• Senior POGS2023 Sponsored Teacher and Staff Luncheon: October TBD
• Prom: April 22, 2023
